B. Observe the different social institutions in your community. (25 points)

Social institutions were created to fulfill individuals' needs and vital interests in society. These primary institutions--family, religion, economics, government, and education--have their objectives and functions, yet, they are all connected and interact with one another to carry out their respective functions.

For instance, just like a human body system, if one of its major organs, such as the heart, fails to supply sufficient blood to different cells and organs, the body will be weakened and cannot function properly, resulting in the person's incapacity to be weary or breathless. The same is true in society. If one institution fails or changes, the others will suffer and be impacted. Assume that the education system at educational institutions (schools) is not working properly. In this case, students will come unprepared to have the knowledge, experience, and skills needed to acquire jobs in the labor market and perform their work responsibilities in the future; since much of education is about preparing for life within structured economic institutions. As a result, they will be unable to sustain/support a family, pay taxes, financially support their religious organizations, or buy goods. Eventually, the faulty educational system would harm the family, economy, religious, and political institutions.

Social institutions are interdependent, and one typically functions with the other; therefore, any structural change or breakdown in the institution of education, religion, or political changes and/or affects the structure of society and other social institutions.
